HHS launched a campaign to increase organ donations by identifying and sharing best practices from hospitals with high donation rates. More than 100 hospitals and 43 organ procurement groups are participating in the program. Currently, about 46% of eligible people who die in hospitals donate their organs. The goal is to raise the percentage to 76%. Nearly 18 people die each day waiting for an organ, HHS said. -- by Tony Fong
