A former HealthSouth Corp. executive entered a guilty plea today in U.S. District Court, Birmingham, Ala., as expected. Will Hicks, 39, pleaded guilty to conspiring to make false statements to auditors and to maintaining false books and records, according to the U.S. attorney's office in Birmingham. Fourteen former HealthSouth executives have pleaded guilty in the case and are cooperating with prosecutors in their probe of alleged accounting fraud at the company. -- by Vince Galloro
