The Institute for Healthcare Improvement says it has added three new topics to its interactive online resource for healthcare quality improvement.
QualityHealthCare.org, launched in March, is a free-of-charge, nonprofit, interactive online resource for healthcare quality improvement, the IHI says.
The group says more than 11,000 healthcare professionals from 95 countries have become registered users of QualityHealthCare.org.
The new topics are:
- Patient Access To Care, with information about delays and inefficient waits for doctors, adversely affecting clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction and costs, hosted by Mark Murray, M.D., a principal of Mark Murray and Associates.
- Diabetes, an increasingly common disease that now ranks as the seventh leading cause of death in the United States, hosted by David K. McCulloch, M.D., senior diabetologist at the Group Health Cooperative of Puget Sound.
- Surgical Site Infections, a major cause of patient injury, mortality and rising healthcare costs, hosted by Lucian Leape, M.D., adjunct professor of health policy at the Harvard School of Public Health.
