Fletcher Allen Heath Care, Burlington, Vt., has named Melinda Estes as its president and chief executive officer, succeeding Edwin Colodny, who has filled both positions on an interim basis since October. Its former chief executive, William Boettcher, resigned amid allegations that he and other former hospital officials had lied to state regulators about the costs of its expansion plan. Estes, 50 is currently the CEO and chairwoman of the board of governors at Cleveland Clinic Florida which has offices in Westin and Naples. When they originally applied to the state for approval of its expansion, former hospital officials had pegged the cost at $173 million. The cost is now estimated at $356 million. -- by Tony Fong
