George Lynn, president and chief executive officer of AtlantiCare, Atlantic City, N.J., was elected chairman-elect of the American Hospital Association board. He will become chairman-elect on Jan. 1, 2004, and will take over the top post in 2005.
Lynn will succeed David Bernd, president and CEO of Sentara Healthcare, Norfolk, Va., who becomes chairman on Jan. 1, 2004.
In his position, Lynn, who has 20 years of healthcare experience and has served on the AHA board's executive committee, will preside over the AHA's strategic policy planning committee.
