UNC Health Care, Chapel Hill, N.C., said it has formed a search committee to select a new CEO for the system. The new CEO also would serve as the dean of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and as the university's vice chancellor for medical affairs. The new CEO will replace Jeffrey Houpt, who has been CEO at UNC Health Care since it was formed in 1998. Houpt was appointed medical school dean and vice chancellor in June 1997. He plans to remain in all three posts until next May. The search committee hopes to have a replacement found by March 31, 2004. -- by Vince Galloro
