Tallahassee (Fla.) Memorial HealthCare tapped an administrator from Memorial Health Care System, Chattanooga, Tenn., to become its next CEO.
G. Mark O'Bryant, 42, was selected by a hospital search committee to take over the top position effective July 14. O'Bryant succeeds Duncan Moore, who resigned in January after 15 years on the job at the 578-bed hospital.
As senior vice president and COO at Memorial Health Care, O'Bryant managed two hospitals and several outpatient centers, including cancer, cardiac, orthopedic and surgical units. With nearly 20 years of experience in the healthcare indus-try, O'Bryant has led his hospitals to rank among the top three facilities rated by patient satisfaction as members of Catholic Health Initiatives.
"Mark's expertise in business development, physician and employee relations will help TMH develop an operational and strategic focus," said Dennis Boyle, chairman of the search committee and a hospital board member who oversaw the three-month search. "He is a seasoned healthcare professional."
O'Bryant said he is going to work to build the hospital into a competitive and viable organization. "Like a majority of healthcare organizations across the country, Tallahassee Memorial finds itself at a crossroads," he said. "The most important job we have is to ensure that TMH remains a strong community resource, with quality customer service, excellent care and a commit-ted workforce."
