Stanley Brezenoff will leave Maimonides Medical Center, New York, to become president and CEO of four-hospital Continuum Health Partners, New York, on July 7. Brezenoff's second in command at Maimonides, Pamela Brier, will succeed him. At Continuum, Brezenoff succeeds Peter Kelly, who resigned in January after more than 20 years at Beth Israel Medical Center and the formation of Continuum in 1997. Brezenoff became president and CEO at Maimonides in 1995 after serving as executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and first deputy mayor of New York under Ed Koch. ... Sally Jeffcoat, 49, president and CEO of the Gulf Coast region of Irving, Texas-based Christus Health, announced her resignation to take a similar position leading Carondelet Health Network in Tucson, Ariz. ... Tenet Healthcare Corp. appointed John Nickens III, 55, as VP of operations for its eight-hospital Gulf Coast region, which includes the company's integrated hospital network in the greater New Orleans area. Nickens replaces Stephen Newman, who has been promoted CEO of Tenet's California operations. ... Marvin O'Quinn, 51, has been named president and CEO of Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, replacing Ira Clark, who will retire June 1. O'Quinn, 51, currently is executive vice president of Atlantic Health System, Florham Park, N.J. ... J. Luke McGuinness Jr., 59, has been hired as president and CEO of both Central DuPage Health and Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, Ill. McGuinness replaces both Donald Sibery, former president and CEO of the parent, and David Fox, former president of the hospital, who left amid five Type I recommendations for improvement at the hospital from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
