Stanley Brezenoff will leave Maimonides Medical Center, New York, to take the helm as president and CEO of four-hospital Continuum Health Partners, New York, on July 7. Brezenoff's second in command at Maimonides, Pamela Brier, was named president and CEO to succeed him. At Continuum, Brezenoff succeeds Peter Kelly, who resigned in January after more than 20 years at Beth Israel Medical Center and Continuum. Kelly helped form Continuum in 1997. Brezenoff became president and CEO at Maimonides in 1995 after a storied career in the public sector, where he was executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and a first deputy mayor of New York under Mayor Ed Koch. He was president of the New York City Health and Hospitals Corp. for four years beginning in 1981 and now is vice chairman of the September 11th Fund. Brier also has been at Maimonides since 1995, serving as executive vice president and COO. -- by Cinda Becker
