Some 76 hospitals in Chicago and Seattle will participate in a terrorism readiness drill taking place May 12 to 16 and coordinated by the Department of Homeland Security. The staged event will involve the hypothetical release of a biological agent in Chicago and a hypothetical radioactive bomb attack in Seattle. Participating hospitals will accept role-playing victims, and caregivers will wear protective masks and other gear as they would in a real crisis, federal officials said. In Chicago, 66 hospitals will be involved, and 10 hospitals in Seattle will participate. -- by Jeff Tieman
