"If it's a public relations war that Richard Scrushy's new lawyers are trying to win, they may want to rethink the battle plan. HealthSouth's founder and former CEO surely didn't earn much sympathy by telling a court that he needs $10 million in living expenses and much, much more to pay his taxes and legal fees. ... His attempt to keep spending a sizable fortune comes as the company he founded is being forced to sell a range of assets. (The austerity measures are) a strategy that Scrushy would be wise to borrow. Instead, Scrushy appears to want to ride out this storm in his luxury yacht."
