Orlando (Fla.) Regional Medical Center said it might close its Level I trauma center April 1, even after the state health department rejected its closure plan. The hospital said it doesn't have enough neurosurgeons to operate the trauma center. Regulators denied Orlando Regional's request to stop handling adult trauma patients, saying the hospital hadn't identified which of 19 state requirements it couldn't meet and hadn't consider alternatives to a full shutdown. -- by Patrick Reilly
