Cardiac monitoring-provider PDSHeart, Atlanta, became the first telemedicine company to be accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. PDSHeart's products and services are prescribed to monitor patients for cardiovascular disease through telephone, cell phone or the Internet. The company initiated the accreditation process two years ago, PDSHeart officials said. It serves 3,500 clinics, 11,000 doctors, 110 hospitals and 30 universities. -- by Cinda Becker
