Bethesda Memorial Hospital, Boynton Beach, Fla., plans to build an 80-bed hospital in Palm Beach County, just west of its existing 335-bed hospital, and expects to file a certificate-of-need application by mid-April. The new hospital would cost up to $80 million and be completed within three to five years, Bethesda Memorial President and CEO Robert Hill said. The facility would be financed through bonds and loans, Hill said. Meanwhile, a $60 million expansion at Bethesda Memorial's main campus is nearing completion. "We think there is a growing need (for healthcare services)," Hill said. "We project seeing a significant increase in population." -- by Patrick Reilly
