Central Indiana Health System, Carmel, will change its name to St. Vincent Health on Jan. 1 after completing its acquisition of Saint John's Health System, Anderson, Ind. Terms of the purchase were not disclosed. The seller is Trinity Health, Novi, Mich. Saint John's includes a 175-bed acute-care hospital, a psychiatric hospital and a nursing home. Although Saint John's has been performing well financially, it is part of a larger system with a limited presence in central Indiana, said Deeni Taylor, executive vice president of Central Indiana Health System. "In the long term, the success of that hospital will be in becoming a part of a regional system," Taylor said. -- by Mark Taylor
