Florida Hospital, a 17-hospital system based in Orlando, will close three mammography locations and transfer services at two others, citing high malpractice insurance costs and declining reimbursement from Medicare and private insurance. The shutdown of the system's mammography units in Apopka, Kissimmee and Oviedo follows the system's closure last year of two other mammography centers. The hospital also announced it will move mammography services at hospitals in Altamonte Springs and Orlando to other existing facilities. It will offer mammography at 34 locations following the changes. -- Patrick Reilly
