The deadline to return questionnaires for Modern Healthcare's 13th annual survey of information system trends is Dec. 31.
The four-page questionnaire was mailed earlier this month to a random sample of senior executives at hospitals and health systems. Responses are vital to determine the state of the industry in this pivotal year of patient-safety publicity, high occupancy rates, technological developments and deadlines to comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.
Responses will form the basis of a comprehensive article detailing the challenges facing healthcare-delivery organizations and their solutions for capturing, reporting, transmitting and analyzing information.
The article and statistical results will be published in the Feb. 10, 2003, issue of Modern Healthcare and distributed at the annual conference and exhibition of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, the industry's biggest gathering of computer professionals.
The survey sample does not include vendors, consultants or suppliers to the industry. Results will depend on the quality of responses from healthcare leaders to whom the questionnaire was sent.
Return the surveys in the enclosed business-reply envelope or mail to Modern Healthcare, Information Systems Survey, c/o John Morrissey, 360 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, Ill. 60601.
