"Stroke is our nation's No. 3 killer and a leading cause of disability. Despite the huge toll this disease takes on our country, the treatment and prevention of stroke have been largely ignored by our policymakers. That is, until now. Earlier this year, the U.S. Senate passed the Stroke Treatment and Ongoing Prevention Act. ... This legislation seeks to increase public awareness of this devastating and deadly disease as well as strengthen our nation's healthcare system to treat stroke most effectively. House lawmakers must follow the same path as the Senate and pass the STOP Stroke Act."
