The Hunter Group, a St. Petersburg, Fla.-based healthcare turnaround firm, has been acquired by Navigant Consulting, Chicago, for $25.4 million in cash and stock. The Hunter Group will continue to operate out of St. Petersburg and its 60 employees will keep their jobs, CEO David Hunter said. He called the acquisition by Navigant, a management consulting firm, "a very good fit. They shared our values and our vision on how you work with clients." Navigant will bring its niche skills in computer data management, supply chain management and revenue cycle improvement to the Hunter Group's projects, Navigant Chairman and CEO William Goodyear said. "They put the game plan in place," Goodyear said. "We can assist in executing the steps." -- by Patrick Reilly
