Maryland's smallest hospital, 45-bed McCready Health Services Foundation, Crisfield, overcharged patients by 7% to 9% in its fiscal 2002 and will be ordered to reduce its rates until the amount is returned to the public, the Maryland Health Services Cost Review Commission said. The overcharges equaled less than $1 million, said Robert Murray, executive director of the commission, which sets hospital rates and reviews hospital revenue monthly to ensure compliance.
