Norman (Okla.) Regional Hospital said it is cooperating with a state investigation of a hepatitis C outbreak among patients who received pain management services at its outpatient department. According to the hospital, six hepatitis C cases have been linked to a certified registered nurse anesthetist who practiced at the 288-bed facility. Hospital spokesman Grant Farrimond said the practitioner no longer has hospital privileges and his case has been referred to state licensing authorities. Farrimond said the hospital plans to contact patients with potential exposure once the Oklahoma Department of Health determines which patients should be tested. -- by Mary Chris Jaklevic
