Robert O'Leary, founding chairman and CEO of Premier, has resurfaced as head of ICN Pharmaceuticals, Costa Mesa, Calif. O'Leary was named chairman and CEO of the drug company yesterday, replacing Milan Panic, who is retiring but will remain on the board. ICN Pharmaceuticals focuses on dermatology, hepatology and oncology. O'Leary has been serving as chairman and CEO of the Sagamore Group, a company specializing in spinoffs and corporate reorganizations, and he also is on the board of numerous companies. In 1995 he helped mastermind a three-way merger between the nation's second-, third- and fourth-largest hospital group purchasing organizations to create Premier. He resigned in June 2000 to become president and CEO at PacifiCare Health Systems, the nation's largest Medicare HMO. He left PacifiCare three months later. -- by Cinda Becker
