Is the healthcare "safety net" intact or is it already fraying badly? This month's online survey at Modern Healthcare's Web site seeks readers' opinions on providers serving the nation's neediest populations. What, if anything, needs to be done to strengthen the system? To take the brief survey, visit modernhealthcare.com.
A new survey will be posted May 1, seeking opinions on "boutique medicine"-members-only physician practices that offer shorter waits for appointments, special attention from doctors and other amenities in exchange for hefty annual fees. Are such practices merely the market economy in action or do they represent a breach of medical ethics?
Results of all previous surveys also are available at Modern Healthcare's Web site.
