The Federation of American Hospitals last week named HCA executive Jay Grinney as its chairman-elect at the annual meeting of its board of governors in Manalapan, Fla.
Grinney, president of Nashville-based HCA's Eastern Group, will become chairman at the March 2002 annual meeting of the federation, a lobbying and advocacy organization that represents 1,700 of the nation's for-profit hospitals. He will replace current Chairman Martin Rash, who is chairman, president and chief executive officer of Province Healthcare Co., Brentwood, Tenn.
In addition, the federation added Michael Parsons, chief operating officer and executive vice president of Triad Hospitals, Dallas, to its board of directors, increasing the number of seats to 24, and announced three new institutional members. They are Ardent Health Services, Nashville; SunLink Healthcare Corp., Atlanta; and Vanguard Health Systems, Nashville.
