Clark W. Bell has been named publisher of Modern Physician. Bell, 50, previously served as editor and associate publisher of Modern Healthcare, the weekly healthcare business magazine owned by Crain Communications.
"For the past 17 years, Clark has done an outstanding job at Modern Healthcare," said publisher Charles Lauer, who will assume the title of publishing director for Modern Physician. "His knowledge of the healthcare industry, drive and enthusiasm will make Modern Physician an even more vital publication."
Prior to joining Modern Healthcare, Bell was executive business editor of theDallas Times Herald, marketing columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times and a reporter for the Chicago Daily News and Des Moines (Iowa) Register.
Bell has a journalism degree from Drake University, a master's degree in urban studies from Loyola University of Chicago and was a Sloan Fellow in economics at Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
