A look at our current issue shows that big changes are brewing at Modern Healthcare.
As Crain Communications begins its 25th year publishing the magazine, we plan a series of new wrinkles and enrichments designed to better inform our healthcare executive readership.
And it all starts now. The news stories are better organized and color-coordinated. Better yet, we've added more white space and graphics designed to make reading Modern Healthcare easier on the eyes.
Pertinent information about the magazine is consolidated on page 2. Here, you'll find the names, titles and direct telephone numbers of our editorial and business staffs, along with details on how to reach us, how to subscribe, how to advertise and how to find information previously published.
We've also spiffed up the look of Outliers and some of our other popular editorial features. In last week's issue, for example, we announced plans to expand our letters department. Our two graphics gurus, Keith Horist and Percy Marioni, deserve special recognition for their efforts on the redesign.
More refinements are expected throughout the year as we near our July 23 issue, which will celebrate our silver anniversary.
Today's issue also is the first produced using our new, advanced computer system. Once we get over the initial humps of implementing the new technology, the system should allow our 30 reporters and editors to produce news better and faster.
Speaking of technology, Jan. 15 also marks the debut of the newest addition to the Modern Healthcare stable of news products. Modern Healthcare's Daily Dose will be a daily electronic news magazine available every weekday afternoon. The Daily Dose will present readers with breaking stories by our reporters as well as recap national media reports. And it's all delivered directly to the subscriber's e-mail address.
