The Modern Physician 2000 Physician Executive Award of Excellence honors young physician executives who have demonstrated vision, leadership and business acumen and are positioned to be in the top tier of tomorrow's medical leadership ranks.
Nominations were open to those who have served at least three years as physician executives and who spend 75% or more of their work week on activities involving administrative and clinical management.
A panel of prominent physician leaders (see page 42) selected the winners on the basis of several criteria, including visionary leadership, outstanding problem-solving skills and leadership in strategic development of an organization.
The 2000 Award of Excellence is co-sponsored by the American College of Physician Executives and AllScripts, a Libertyville, Ill.-based provider of productivity enhancements for physicians. Winners will be recognized on Nov. 14 at the ACPE's Fall Institute in Indian Wells, Calif.
