Bandied about more every day, the term "e-health" is working its way into the industry's lexicon as consumers and caregivers alike try to understand how the Internet can change healthcare.
Building on that understanding is the goal of e-HealthcareWorld, a conference that examines the Internet's role in empowering consumers while reducing costs and improving care.
Taking place this week at the Las Vegas Hilton, e-HealthcareWorld features more than 250 healthcare and Internet technology vendors.
MODERN HEALTHCARE and its sister publication Modern Physician are two of many sponsors of the conference. Other sponsors include vendors of Web-based healthcare solutions, consulting firms and media outlets.
Keynote speakers will address issues ranging from online solutions for medical errors to the quality of online health information.
Planners anticipate hosting approximately 6,500 attendees over the three-day event.
