Your March 13 cover sy "New leaders drive managed care" (p. 28) hit the mark. The managed-care industry has fallen on hard times financially and in terms of its public image. Its only real choice is to reinvent itself.
The executives you featured can lead the way. Their ability to create a vision of the future coupled with their willingness to change direction quickly if needed is essential in today's marketplace.
With leaders such as these and others taking the reins of managed-care plans nationwide, I am cautiously optimistic that the prognosis for the managed-care industry is good.
