NetCare Health Systems has made its second announcement in two weeks that it will close a hospital it had hoped earlier this year to sell.
The Nashville-based hospital chain said last week that it plans to shutter 44-bed Central Texas Hospital, Cameron, on Oct. 29.
A week earlier, NetCare announced that another of its hospitals, 50-bed Stone County Hospital in Wiggins, Miss., also would close on Oct. 29 (Oct. 18, p. 4). The hospitals are two of four the 14-hospital chain earmarked for sale in June (June 28, p. 16).
The company still hopes to negotiate a deal with buyers for the two others, 142-bed Chatuge Regional Hospital and Nursing Home in Hiawassee, Ga., and 40-bed Marshall County Medical Center in Holly Springs, Miss.
