Finding solutions to the U.S. healthcare system's problems is a major challenge facing the next generation of leaders in medical management. Modern Physician is launching an effort to identify physician executives in the early stages of their careers who have shown exemplary leadership in their efforts to find these remedies.
The 1998 Physician Executive Award of Excellence is designed to honor physician executives who have the potential to be in the top tier of tomorrow's medical leadership ranks. The competition is open to individuals who have served at least three years as physician executives and who spend 75% or more of their work week on administrative/clinical management activities.
Avio, a Maitland, Fla.-based provider of information technology solutions, is sponsoring the awards in cooperation with the American College of Physician Executives. Multiple winners will be selected in two categories: organizations with 10 or fewer doctors and organizations with more than 10 doctors.
