Your Sept. 14 article (p. 32) regarding Yale University's settlement of a billing probe with HHS referred to a "PATH audit of Yale and its 757-bed Yale-New Haven Hospital." Although Yale-New Haven Hospital has indeed worked collaboratively with Yale University and its medical school since its founding as the country's fifth hospital in 1826, we are in fact separate corporate entities.
More important, both the HHS investigation and the audit focused on the professional billing practices of the university and its medical school. In neither case was Yale-New Haven Hospital under review or investigation.
