The inaugural board of directors is in place for the new joint venture between state and metropolitan hospital associations and the American Hospital Association.
The groups formed the for-profit Allied Healthcare Association Services earlier this year so hospital associations could sell specialty services to one another and their members (March 23, p. 4). Temporary headquarters are at the Connecticut Hospital Association in Wallingford.
The limited-liability company so far has 16 investors, and its first product is a World Wide Web-based collection of Year-2000 compliance data.
The company's new board includes:
Chairman Dennis May, president of the Connecticut Hospital Association.
Interim Chief Executive Officer Thomas Kobler, vice president of First Health Associates, Chester, Pa.
Treasurer Donald Whiteside, president and CEO of Pleasanton, Calif.-based HealthPlus, a subsidiary of the Hospital Council of Northern and Central California.
Secretary Lynn Nicholas, executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Princeton-based New Jersey Hospital Association.
