I read your story on research in Louisville, Ky. ("Louisville revs up its research engine," Aug. 24, p. 36), with a great deal of interest and have passed it on to several colleagues. But I have one question about the article: Why didn't it mention the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center?
We have a very active research service that works with and also separate from the hospitals and researchers mentioned in the article. We're proud of the research work done at our sister hospitals, but we're also proud of what we do.
