MODERN HEALTHCARE's second international edition underscores our commitment to provide useful information to healthcare managers around the world.
Despite the differences in financing and delivering medical services, there is a consistent global desire to improve quality and manage costs. I was able to learn this firsthand on a recent tour of South Africa's healthcare system. As the country wrestles with massive social and political changes, healthcare stands out as an important reality check for measuring progress. My report begins on page i8. A number of our staff members actively contributed to this issue, including Kathleen Harkness, who assigned and edited the stories. Keith Horist and Brad Alig handled the layout and graphics.
As always, we are interested in your opinion. Let us know what you like and dislike about the magazine and how we can improve our international coverage. One option is to fax us the reader feedback form that appears on page i22.
