Furman Selz, a New York investment bank, has hired healthcare heavyweight David MacCallum as executive vice president and head of its healthcare finance for the Americas division.
MacCallum was managing director and global head of healthcare investment banking at Union Bank of Switzerland's securities unit in New York. During his three-year stint there, MacCallum's group completed more than 60 financing transactions.
Before joining UBS in 1995, MacCallum spent 15 years at Hambrecht & Quist, a San Francisco-based investment bank. MacCallum was first in charge of healthcare research and later both healthcare research and investment banking.
During MacCallum's tenure, Hambrecht & Quist became a leading underwriter of initial public offerings and other securities offerings for healthcare companies.
