Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Pediatrix Medical Group acquired Fort Worth (Texas) Neonatal Associates, a physician group practice that operates eight neonatal intensive-care units in Fort Worth. Pediatrix also acquired assets of three neonatologists who practice in five NICUs in the San Jose, Calif., area. Terms weren't disclosed.
Nashville-based PhyCor completed its acquisition of certain assets of White Wilson Medical Center in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. It entered a long-term management services agreement with the 50-physician multispecialty group associated with the clinic. Terms weren't disclosed.
MedPartners, Birmingham, Ala., made three acquisitions: Suburban Heights Medical Center, a multispecialty group of 56 physicians in the Chicago area; Raleigh, N.C.-based Cardinal IPA, which operates a network of 323 physicians; and 17-physician Family Medical Clinic in Nampa and Caldwell, Idaho. Terms weren't disclosed.
Six Atlanta-area orthopedic practices with 47 physicians in 22 locations agreed to affiliate with Nashville-based OrthoLink Physicians Corp. The practices are Compass Orthopaedics, north Fulton County; Georgia Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, south Cobb County; North Cobb Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Associates; Orthopaedic and Fracture Center, central Cobb County; Orthopaedic Associates of Dekalb-Gwinnett (Ga.); and Resurgens Orthopaedics in Atlanta. No terms were disclosed.
Specialty Care Network, Lakewood, Colo., bought Southeastern Neurology Group, Orthopaedic Surgery Ltd. in Portsmouth, Va., and Associated Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Plano, Texas. Specialty Care also will manage Associated Orthopedics' outpatient surgery center and physical therapy and occupational medicine operations. In addition, it agreed to buy Mid-Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialists, Hagerstown, Md.; a four-physician orthopedic group in Suffolk, Va.; and Northeast Florida Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation in Jacksonville. Terms weren't disclosed.
Atlanta-based Physicians' Specialty Corp. acquired certain assets of Allatoona ENT and Facial Plastic Surgery, an ear, nose and throat practice in Cartersville, Ga. The company entered a 40-year management services agreement with the practice's two physicians.
