Peter Butler, 46, late last week was named president and chief executive officer of Methodist Health Care System in Houston.
MODERN HEALTHCARE disclosed that Butler was the leading candidate for the job earlier this month (July 7, p. 4).
Butler is currently senior vice president of hospital affairs at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit. He will replace Methodist's longtime leader Larry Mathis, who will leave the post later this summer. Butler joined Henry Ford in 1992. Before that, he worked for 10 years in various capacities at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago.
