NEW LONDON, Conn.-Mariner Health Group said its hospital services group has signed contracts to provide comprehensive subacute management services to three hospital systems. The New London-based company said it will develop and manage subacute units for the South Bend, Ind.-based Holy Cross Health System; Walls Regional Medical Center in Cleburne, Texas; and Methodist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla. The hospital services group also will provide rehabilitation therapist staffing services for Des Moines-based Central Iowa Health System. Mariner said the hospital services group currently provides subacute management and rehabilitation staffing services to 32 hospital systems.
TRUMBULL, Conn.-Boston-based Frontier Group said it has agreed to provide rehabilitation and long-term-care services to the members of Physicians Health Services, a Trumbull-based managed-care plan. Four of Frontier's skilled-nursing centers in Connecticut will provide services to the plan's more than 200,000 enrollees throughout the state. Frontier said the agreement may lead to additional partnerships involving disease carve-outs, capitated or risk-sharing arrangements, and other clinical management programs.
