DALY CITY, Calif.-Denver-based Coram Healthcare has agreed to provide home-care services for Catholic Healthcare West's West Bay system in Daly City. Under the nonexclusive contract, Coram will offer home infusion therapy, durable medical equipment, respiratory therapy and other home-care services to West Bay's 30,000 managed-care enrollees. The West Bay system includes Sequoia Hospital, Redwood City, Calif.; St. Mary's Medical Center, San Francisco; Saint Francis Memorial Hospital, San Francisco; Seton Medical Center, Daly City; and Seton Medical Center Coastside, Moss Beach, Calif.
SAN FRANCISCO-California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco last month opened a new facility for Alzheimer's patients. The facility, called the Irene Swindells Alzheimer's Residential Center, provides care for patients experiencing the early to mid-stage symptoms of the disease. In addition to room and board, residents receive assistance with personal grooming and eating and an ongoing assessment of medical needs. The program is managed by Corte Madera, Calif.-based Guardian Health Group, a subacute services company serving Northern California.
