MODERN HEALTHCARE has added two new reporters to its staff.
Scott Hensley, 35, has joined the New York bureau, where he will lead the magazine's coverage of technology, group purchasing and outsourcing as well as report on news of the region. Hensley comes to the magazine after working as a staff reporter for American Banker, a business daily based in Manhattan, where he covered mutual funds, brokerages and securities regulation. Previously, he spent almost 10 years in regulatory affairs for Siemens Medical Systems. Hensley received a bachelor's degree from Johns Hopkins University and a master's from Columbia University graduate school of journalism.
Ron Shinkman, 30, has joined the Los Angeles bureau, where he will spearhead coverage of the Western states and report on business coalitions, healthcare purchasers and payers, and governance. Before joining MODERN HEALTHCARE, Shinkman was a healthcare reporter and columnist for the Los Angeles Business Journal. He wrote for daily newspapers and business publications throughout California on the aerospace and automotive industries before he began covering healthcare in 1993 for the Orange County Business Journal. Shinkman received a bachelor's degree in English from the University of California at Los Angeles.
