BOSTON-Children's Hospital has put its 152-room inn, where families of patients are offered special prices, up for sale. The Inn at Children's Hospital is part of the hospital's Longwood Galleria complex, which also includes apartments and retail stores. Hospital officials told the Boston Herald that they have talked to people, including Boston developer and hotel owner Ron Druker, about selling the entire complex. The price tag reportedly is about $60 million. "The inn is for sale, and he's very interested," said Dinah Vaprin, the hospital's director of public affairs. "We look at a lot of things, and our name gets bandied about," said Druker, who owns the Colonnade and Midtown hotels in Boston. The inn now is managed by Best Western. Families of patients at Children's Hospital can get single rooms at the inn for $59 a night and double rooms for $65 a night. Rates for others start at $129 a night. Vaprin said she didn't know what would happen to rates if the complex is sold to a private developer. "I can't speak to what would happen once the inn is sold," she said. "We would hope that would continue."
