New American Healthcare Corp., a start-up hospital management company, signed its second acquisition deal in two weeks.
The Brentwood, Tenn.-based company agreed to buy Central Valley General Hospital in Hanford, Calif.
Earlier this month, New American agreed to buy Doctors Hospital-Wentzville, Mo. (June 17, p. 14).
Central Valley is a for-profit hospital now owned by a group of local investors, said Dana McLendon Jr., senior vice president of finance for New American. The rural hospital also operates two rural health clinics and is building a third.
The deal is expected to be completed by the end of July. New American focuses on rural and suburban hospitals.
