G. Rodney Wolford, 49, a prominent former hospital executive, has been named board chairman of Sterling Diagnostic Imaging.
Wolford was president and chief executive officer of California Healthcare System in San Francisco in 1993.
He headed Alliant Health System in Louisville, Ky., from 1988 to 1993. He has been working out of Louisville as a healthcare consultant.
Sterling Diagnostic was created recently by Sterling Group, a Houston-based investment firm, which bought DuPont's diagnostic imaging business.
The company makes X-ray film, processing equipment and electronic imaging systems. Its annual sales are about $525 million.
Wolford will relocate to Sterling's headquarters in Glasgow, Del.
