Scott S. Parker, president and chief executive officer of Intermountain Health Care, Salt Lake City, this week will receive the American College of Healthcare Executives 1996 Gold Medal Award.
The honor, given during the college's 1996 Congress on Healthcare Management, held in Chicago, recognizes ACHE fellows who exemplify leadership at all levels of healthcare from within their own organization to local, state and national levels.
Parker has been president and CEO of Intermountain since its inception in 1975. In addition, Parker was chairman of the American Hospital Association board in 1984 and is the current president of the International Hospital Federation.
The ACHE is an organization of more than 30,000 healthcare executives.
