Although you rarely see his name or face, Neil McLaughlin is MODERN HEALTHCARE's unsung hero. McLaughlin joined the magazine in 1986 as a managed-care reporter. Two years later, he was promoted to news editor.
McLaughlin confers with reporters about their news stories, makes sure the copy arrives on time and decides where each story will appear in the magazine. His leadership and editorial skills make this publication come together every week.
His ability to handle deadline pressure was honed at the Associated Press, where he served for seven years in the Chicago, Springfield, Ill., and Washington bureaus.
In recognition of his talent and effort, we have promoted McLaughlin to executive news editor.
