Medaphis Corp. said net income jumped 58% in the second quarter ended June 30.
The Atlanta-based billing and business management company posted net income of $8.8 million, or 20 cents per share, compared with $5.6 million, or 15 cents per share in the year-ago quarter. Revenues increased 63% to $106 million.
For the six months, the company recorded a net loss of $4.7 million, or 12 cents per share, compared with net income of $9.5 million, or 25 cents per share, in the year-ago period. Revenues grew 65% to $205.3 million.
Results for the six months include restructuring, merger and other one-time expenses. Medaphis said the second-quarter and six-month figures have been restated to reflect its 2-for-1 stock split in May and its acquisition of Automation Atwork, a provider of scheduling and management systems and services for hospitals and integrated delivery systems.
