Kenneth E. Thorpe, former HHS deputy assistant secretary for health policy, has taken a senior consulting position with the Medstat Group.
The company is an Ann Arbor, Mich.-based data and decision-support vendor.
Thorpe, 39, took a leave from a teaching post at the University of North Carolina in 1993 to advise President Clinton's healthcare transition team and then help develop and promote the administration's healthcare reform bill as a senior HHS official.
He will apply his experience in assessing the public-and private-sector impact of healthcare reform alternatives, according to Medstat.
Thorpe will work out of the company's Washington office.
