Robert Van Hook, the former director of the National Rural Health Association, has been named the first executive director of the Kentucky Health Policy Board, effective immediately.
For the past 11/2 years, he served as executive director for healthcare reform at HHS. Mr. Van Hook, 50, has more than 20 years' experience in health policy and management, including a directorship of a division of the West Virginia Department of Health. In 1992, he left his longtime post at the National Rural Health Association, based in Kansas City, Mo.
Mr. Van Hook is a graduate of the University of South Florida and has a master's degree in public health from the University of North Carolina.
