Mark J. Chastang has been named president and chief executive officer of 238-bed East Orange (N.J.) General Hospital and its parent company, Essex Valley Healthcare.
Mr. Chastang, 42, who served for six years as executive director and CEO of District of Columbia General Hospital, replaces Terrence Cahill, who left East Orange in July as a result of "philosophical differences" with the board, a spokeswoman said.
